Things have to move

September the 1st is arrived and we have still no more information concerning the disappearance of Valentin and François-Xavier.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry ensured us that researches would be undertaken during September by competent Indian Authorities in the area where personal effects of Valentin were discovered. This zone is situated along Manji River, below Mon Peak. The authorities told us it was the best moment to carry out researches. Indeed, monsoon must be ended, so that snow is melted and the flow of the river is less strong.

Authorities think Valentin and François-Xavier would have lethally flopped in a glacier. The river which pours down this glacier would have undressed the body of Valentin and pulled his clothes further.

We expect much of this exploration which must take place from the village of Khaniara up to the Mon Peak glacier. We absolutely have to find the bodies of Valentin and François-Xavier. The place where Valentin’s effects were discovered would seems to prove us that they probably could have fallen and died in this area. In the middle of June, trekkers which bought back Valentin’s effects, spent a few hours to reach this zone.

We also expect the result of the investigations on our boys’ mobile phones and on the camera and the right shoe of Valentin. This could explain what it happened and in which area were our boys. The camera of Valentin was found and the memory card is perfectly readable. The few pictures which were transmitted to us, were taken by Valentin during the ascent towards Inderhara Collar.

Today, it has been more than a year since they disappeared.

Indian authorities carried out unsuccessfully researches last year, in spite of important deployed resources.

In may 2014, with François-Xavier’s parents, we financed a private expedition with experimented trekkers. This expedition investigated the Naddy valley, also unsuccessfully.

The bag of Valentin and his right shoe were bought back to the Indian police, by 3 indian trekkers,  the day before I left India. Five days later, the same persons, accompanied by policemen, bought back the jacket, the polar and the trousers of Valentin. No boby was found, no personal effect of François-Xavier was found, except his mobile phone and binoculars that were in Valentin’s bag.

This stressing situation is disconcerting and very difficult to live. We have the feeling that the whole information is not given to us.

As parents, we have the right and the need to find our sons. We don’t give up. The French government  doesn’t give up its citizens.

We have to make things happen with Indian authorities. The mystery of the disappearance of Valentin and François-Xavier in river valley of Manji has finally to be clarified. If nothing is found there, then, it’s absolutely necessary to seek somewhere else and consider other hypothesis.
